If you are interested in entrepreneurship the answer is most likely yes. Whether you are a serial entrepreneur or new to the startup scene, you’ll fit right in as long as you are motivated to build a product or startup and are open to new ideas. We believe that great ideas can come from anywhere.
The event is intended to be a collaborative and inclusive forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. We expect each member of the startup community to be inclusive of all people and their ideas at Techstars Startup Weekend Dhamtari and we welcome all, regardless of experience, industry or background.
Apart from the organizing team, mentors, speakers, event volunteers, and judges, everyone who participates in our Techstars Startup Weekend Dhamtari is expected to participate in all three days. This is important not only to preserve your own learning experience, but also to minimize distractions or disruptions for the team you choose to join.
At our event, a “Sunday Presentation Only” option may be available for those wishing to only view the teams’ final pitch presentations. We welcome any friends, family, or colleagues you would like to invite to watch your final presentation. Please check our registration page for availability.
To register for our Techstars Startup Weekend Dhamtari, please visit swdhamtari.com where you’ll find the registration link. We offer different ticket types based on skill sets. Business (strategy, marketing, operations, and pitching), Developer (coders and engineers), Designer (UI/UX), and Enthusiast (students or anyone exploring startups).
Our organizing team uses this system to make sure we have a diverse mix of participants. Just pick the ticket that’s closest to your background. What matters is your enthusiasm to learn, build, and collaborate!
Pitching is open to every participant! We recommend you purchase the ticket that best represents your skill set.
Everyone who attends the event as a participant is expected to come without a team and then join one during the event. The ideal team consists of diverse members collaborating to build a minimum viable product (MVP) using the Lean Canvas framework. More people = faster MVP development and a stronger final pitch.
No, but we highly encourage you to. You can pitch an idea you've been thinking about or come up with one on the spot. Please don’t pitch something you’ve already built. The event’s purpose is to learn how to go from ideation to product.
Pitching is excellent public speaking practice — you won’t regret doing it, but you might regret not trying!
Participants are generally responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodation when attending Startup Weekend. However, for Techstars Startup Weekend Dhamtari, accommodation will also be provided to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for those traveling from outside.
If you are unfamiliar with the location or need additional guidance, feel free to reach out to our local organizing team. We’ll be happy to share details and recommendations.
A Laptop, Smart phones, Cameras, Diary, Pen & Sketch Pens, Business cards, Whatever helps you to be most productive, and Lots of energy!
All ideas are welcome, whether for-profit or non-profit. Our event is typically tech-oriented, with around 90% of ideas being Software as a Service (SaaS). Given the short time-frame to develop your product, even non-tech ideas should focus on a scalable tech-related deliverable (for example, a website) by Sunday to demonstrate a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
Since our vertical is sustainability, we especially encourage participants to develop ideas that align with sustainability, environmental impact, or green technology, while applying tech solutions to make them scalable and actionable.
